About me

I’m Noriega Sayago, a Mexican guitarist specializing in rock and classical music. My musical journey began in 2007, and since then, I’ve built my career through consistent study, discipline, and a continuous drive to take my playing further.

In 2014, I began my formal professional training in music, completing my technical degree in 2017 and beginning my Bachelor’s Degree in Music that same year. Throughout this process, I had the opportunity to study with renowned musicians, including Leo Brouwer and Xavier Jara. These experiences profoundly expanded my perspective on the guitar, performance, and the artistic process.

That continued work eventually took me to international stages and competitions. In 2018, I won first place at the XXIII International Classical Music Festival and Competition in Russia, performing high-level repertoire alongside a guitar orchestra.

In 2018 and 2019, I also participated in the XV and XVI editions of the International Guitar Encounter in Panama, where I taught workshops and attended masterclasses with renowned guitarists. In 2022, I earned another first-place finish at the IX BUAP International Fall Classical Guitar Festival, competing in the undergraduate soloist category.

Each of these experiences has been part of the same process: building solid technique, developing artistic judgment, and maintaining the discipline to keep improving.

Today, my work spans performance, education, production, and the development of new musical projects. As an educator, I aim to transmit more than technical knowledge. I want to share the discipline, judgment, and tools that allow each musician to develop a voice of their own.

I continue working on new pieces, collaborations, and projects both on stage and in the studio, while exploring different ways of understanding the guitar and music. My goal remains the same: to keep evolving as an artist and take every project one step further.
